With just two weeks to go until the ‘Airborne Gunner U.K Summer Supercross presented Stunt Flying’ more top U.K based riders are signing up for the Pro Invitational class. Organisers ‘Steel Hawk Motorcycle Club’ are pleased to announce that the Revo Seven Kawasaki team of Dylan Walsh and James Dunn will be racing in the inaugural event on Tuesday 3rd August at Cusses Gorse MX track, just north of Salisbury.
Kiwi Walsh and Englishman Dunn will be lining up against most of the U.K’s top indoor specialists to race the new Supercross track built by Justin Barclay, but of course they won’t be indoors as this event is taking place outdoors in the good old British Summer under the floodlights. Walsh, who is working his way back to fitness after some time off had this to say about racing the event. “I’m looking forward to this and doing something a bit different. I’ve had a bit of bad luck this year in MX and it hasn’t quite gone my way but I’m getting back to fitness and am ready for the rest of the season. This event is ideal. A bit of mid week action and a chance to sharpen up the skills without the pressures of championship racing. I’m seeing a specialist next week where he should give me the green light to get back racing. I’ve done everything right and feel good so this will be good event to get back into the swing of things. I like what the guys are doing. I think midweek Supercross is great idea, so I’m happy to come along and support them and hopefully this will be the first on many more to come.”
Teammate James Dunn, who has some experience racing Supercross racing in the U.K after competing in the Arenacross series is also excited by the prospect. “It’s going to be fun I reckon. Not just for me but for everyone taking part and coming out to watch. We need more stuff like this in the U.K. They do outdoor Supercross at smaller venues in other countries so I don’t see why it can’t work here in the U.K. We obviously have a lot of national MX championships so it’s cool to have something different to break it up. I think it will work well, I mean, it’s not as if most of us don’t go out riding on a Wednesday anyway and we’re not talking about a full on AMA Supercross style track here because I know the guys at Steel Hawk and Justin are building a track for the kids to race too. I think the racing will be really close and entertaining. That’s what people want to see. I’m looking forward to being part of it.”
