The Revvi’s storm Sheffield! Revvi Cup @ SX Worx September – Race Report & Results

Following on from Steel Hawk Motorcycle’s first successful trip to the SX Worx in April for their first Revvi Cup event there, they returned on Saturday for the second time with over 100 riders entering on their quest for glory.

A Friday evening Electric Ride session preceded the Race event, with over 40 riders churning out the laps on the revamped SX Worx circuit, which was fantastically prepped by Johna and Dan.

When it came down to Saturday’s races, the stacked 12″ Open class for riders 3 years of age were up first. With many of the little riders having their first race event, these races proved a real workout for the parents as well as the riders who battled their way around the circuit.

In the heats, Theo Cadd was unbeaten, but when it came down to the A Final George Bryan was on a mission and took the chequered flag ahead of Theo, with Harvey Nicol in third. George Breeze who won two heats, would round out his day with fourth in the A final ahead of Rhys Bennison in fifth, Ezra Astin another double heat winner was sixth, Arthur Stephenson seventh, Jonah Barks eighth and Tommy White in ninth.

In the B Final Ethan Rudd, who wasn’t old enough to race, came good to take the chequers ahead of Bobby Addison, Theo Watchman, Kylen Warrant, Blake Benson, Maddox Buckley, Renesme Ellis and Esme Fisher.

The largest cheers of the day went to the two racers in the C Final. Kassidy-Reve Wood and Lillie May Jackson circulated the track with loud applause from the crowd for their efforts.

The 12″ Open 4-5 year old class was condensed to one race in the end and, due to a number glitch, saw two winners, with Jaxson Parramore and Joey Haigh sharing the honours. Well done to them both. Cayleb Leary secured his place on the podium with a tremendous third overall, Nicky Layt was fourth, Jenson Martin was fifth, Cameron Drabbie was sixth, Louie Byrant seventh, Tommy Ashmore eighth and Rocco Sankey was ninth.

The 16″ Standard 3-4 years of age class was another packed one, and coming out on top in the A final was Hugo Owen, fending off the previously unbeaten Foxy Smith to take the Revvi Cup for this group. Behind Hugo and Foxy in third was George Foames who won two of his heat races in fine style. Thomas Harrison who finished in fourth, Jenson Mason was fifth, Tommy Craig was sixth, Grayson Wright was seventh number 501 was eighth and Roman Willoughby was ninth.

In the B Final Ethan Rudd who had entered two classes, made it a set by also being victorious in this one as well as the 12″ B Final. Behind Ethan Albert Luckman and Eduardo Lukosiunas rode well for second and third, respectively. In fourth was Riley Richards, Leonardo Weston was fifth, James Johnson was sixth, and Arthur Naylor was seventh.

Harry Plaice took the win in the C Final, with Hughie Hallawell second, Revvi Cup regular River Mathias third and Stanley Whittle fourth.

The 16″ Open 3-4 years of age category was run over four point scoring heat’s and with three race wins to his name, it would be Reggie Wheatcroft who would lift the cup. Rico Blinkhorn showed a good turn of speed for second, while George Nottingham had a great day and finished third with Teddy Tarr fourth, Hadley Dillon fifth, Harley Cornwall sixth, Marley Butler seventh, Chester Owen eighth, Eddison Bennett ninth and Cooper Williamson tenth.

Moving onwards to the older riders and the 16″ Standard 5-6 year old class, where Eli Smith rode superbly throughout, winning all of his heats and the final for good measure. Well done Eli! Nancy Hanby won two heat races and rode a stormer for second in the final ahead of Max Stevens, who looked fast all day long. Albie Stone was fourth, Ollie Vincent was fifth, Oscar Duckworth was sixth, Alfie Gooch was seventh, Daisy Cartwright was eighth, and Freddie Smith was ninth.

Like in April the most competitive class was the 16″ Open 5-6 year olds and the racing was out of the top drawer, especially in the A Final which was Austin Roberts, and George Evans had an epic battle for the win. In the end, Evans edged it over Roberts with Ronnie Mac look-alike Greyson Hughes and Kolbe Red Sole right there in fourth. Fantastic racing guys! Myles Hanson finished fifth, Brodie Holden was sixth, Leon Warner was seventh, Maggie May Layt was eighth and Jensen Hawksworth was ninth.

Over in the B Final Marco Reynolds stormed to the win and but for a low-scoring first heat, would have been a contender in the A Final. Harry Gardner was second, George Davis was third, Daniel Beardell was fourth, Billy Maddison was fifth, Archie Johnson was sixth, Eli Owen was seventh, and Mateo Don was eighth.

In the 16″ Open 7-8 year old class Jesse Barks won all four heats to take home the cup with Emelia Bryant in second, while Rosa Yates won the 7-8 standard class.

At the excitable presentation that followed the racing, Revvi owner, Don De Graff presented every rider with a medal while Chief Lapscorer Kay Wells awarded Nancy Hanby with the rider of the day award for riding all day superbly and finishing second in the super tough 16″ Standard 5-6 A Final. Nancy would win a set of FMF goggles courtesy of sponsors Madison, as did Zavier Cunningham, who saw a little fallen rider at Friday evening’s Electric Ride day, stopped to pick them up and check they were ok. Well done Zavier! The top three of each class were also awarded a bottle of Duck Smart Kit Cleaner. Thank you to Gary, Dave and the team at Duck Smart for their support.

Again every single rider who rode was a winner. The determination shown by the little riders to take on the big track was fantastic to see, and everyone at Steel Hawk is super proud of each and every one of you.

Thanks once again go to Johna and Dan for all of the work they did at the venue to make the track perfect for the little ones, and of course to Don and Katie at Revvi for working with us to put on these events.

Massive thanks, as always, to the Parents of the riders, and their families and friends for creating a fun and supportive environment for the little riders, and also entertaining us with your mad dashes around the track.

Onwards now to Wheeldon Off Road Centre in Devon on the 12th and 13th of November. Info will be out about this soon!
