Joe Clayton in for 2022 Airborne Gunner Supercross!

West Country Supercross specialist Joe Clayton is the latest rider to join the Airborne Gunner Supercross Pro class and is looking to improve on his third-place finish from 2021!

The Steel Hawk Motorcycle Club promoted Airborne Gunner Supercross takes place at Cusses Gorse MX on the 9th August with youth races in the day before the Pro, Expert and Clubman Adults take to the track from 6pm in the evening.

Clayton, who spent some time in the states racing in the AMA Supercross Championship earlier in the year and who recently won the Straight Rhythm at the same venue, said, “I’m excited to be racing the second year of the Airborne Gunner SX. Last year I finished 3rd on the podium behind Jack (Brunell) and Adam (Chatfield), but this year I’m looking to take the win, and I feel my training and racing out in the USA at the start of the year will help me!”

Joe joins 2021 champion Jack Brunell in the Pro lineup, who will be keen to retain the “Melvyn Brunell Trophy”, which he won and was put up by the Brunell family in 2021 in memory of Jack’s dad Melvyn who was a keen British Supercross enthusiast.

The Airborne Gunner Supercross takes place the day before Steel Hawk Motorcycle Club’s “Rock it ’til Sundown Midweek MX” with Spectator tickets on sale now with a discounted Combo ticket available for both events.

More Pro riders are set to be announced next week.
